In what is a wonderful confluence of brand ethos, Signature Packaged Drinking Water has partnered with the ELLE Sustainability Awards. This is going to be a night honouring game-changing leaders in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. ELLE is celebrating true trailblazers, the ones emphasising the importance of conscious living and Signature Packaged Drinking Water is joining us in this endeavour.
The brand has worked closely on The Mangrove Replenishment Project on World Earth Day which was on April 22. This reinforced their commitment to restore mangrove plantations in Odisha and restore the fragile ecological balance of coastal regions for climate resiliency. Through its pioneering of the Odisha National Mangrove Restoration Project on April 22, 2023, Signature Packaged Drinking Water aims to give back to the community.

So Why The Mangroves? Here’s Why:
Cyclones have a vast impact on Orissa owing to climate fluctuations and its unique geography. Over time, this coastline stretch’s mangrove population has decreased for a variety of causes, despite being formerly abundant. Mangrove regeneration is essential since a community’s livelihood is dependent on the sea and its surrounding ecosystem. Mangroves all along the Odisha coast are under threat as a result of high population density and competing need for land for agriculture and coastal prawn aquaculture. Rapid urbanisation and tourism have also had an impact on natural mangrove restoration.

Says Ruchira Jaitly, Executive Vice President and Portfolio Head, Marketing, Diageo India, “The Mangrove Replenishment Project has been launched to build coastal climate resiliency in Odisha. Signature Packaged Drinking Water believes in living well while doing good. We want to give our consumers the chance to celebrate life every day, everywhere, while being associated with deeds that are making a ‘sea change’ on the ground, for local communities, for flora and fauna – all for the planet. Mangroves form a natural barrier that stems erosion, prevents flooding, helps offset carbon, and increases food security. We are committed to partnering with local communities in Odisha to do good for nature.”
